Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?

We're a small traditional publishing house based out of Michigan and founded in 2001. We do our work digitally and send it to our offset printer. All of our titles then ship direct to our facility in Michigan and to our distributor, Biblio Distribution, a division of the National Book Network. Our titles are available to bookstores and wholesalers such as Ingram, Alamo Square and Baker and Taylor who in turn sell them to brick and mortar stores as well as on-line shops like amazon.com.

Who do you sell to?

We sell direct to customers on our site via Paypal although most sales go through bookstores. Our presale titles are usually discounted until the day of the books release. We also sell autographed copies or bookplates by some authors with quantities being the first 50 pre-ordered books sold. We like the idea of giving our patrons the chance of owning signed copies. Who knows? You might end up with a signed novel of a Pulitzer Prize winning author someday. J

All books will ship within thirty days of their release date per FTC regulations. If we expect a delay will surpass 30 days, you will receive written notice prior to that time. You then have the option of canceling your order or holding it. In keeping with our company policy of quality, only catastrophic events - such as unforeseen acts of nature or man - will postpone delivery of our books. Yes, we have had fires, floods and blizzards since we've been in business the last four years. So it is a possibility, however, you will receive notice.

Since we use the ISBN system any reader can go into any bookstore and ask for our titles - that's if it's not already on the shelf. Simply ask them to look for the title in their directory using this number along with the title and author name.

If you are a bookstore looking to buy please email us at sales@baycrestbooks.com or contact us via any means listed below our FAQ. You may also contact NBN or Biblio if you have an account with them.

Are you accepting manuscripts and which types?

Visit our submission page for details.

I ordered a book but I haven't gotten it. Now what?

Be sure it's a book that's been released and not a pre-order book. All the books on our site have a release date located next to their descriptions. Released items should arrive within 21 days of ordering. Realistically it's within 14, however, some locations might be further out of the way so we like to give another week just for those few that might not be near large cities since we ship media mail. No book will be shipped later than 30 days without written (email) notice. If you haven't received your order within 4 weeks of placing it, please contact us via email at service@baycrestbooks.com or via the phone number listed below.

I'm a bookseller. Can I carry Baycrest Books in my store?

Certainly. You can contact our distributor, Biblio Distribution. If you have a National Book Network account (NBN) you can also use them to place your order. We're always looking for new booksellers to add to our booksellers page. Our distributor tells us how many titles are sold to wholesalers but if you use a wholesaler we don't know you've made a purchase. Let us know you support Baycrest Books so we can promote you as well.

I still have questions. Where can I go?

For authors checking on status of your books/queries, email submissions@baycrestbooks.com instead of calling. We are a small publisher and rather busy. For all other inquiries please use any of the means below to get in touch with us. We'll be in contact with you within 48 hours.
